Willful Deception, or Pure Stupidity?
Surely you do not think recent GDP figure headlines (e.g.: "Economy: Sharpest decline in 26 years - Economic activity shrank by 3.8% in last three months of 2008, according to the government's gross domestic product report") are accurate: see why here. Not to mention the very concept of GDP is flawed.

God, Forgive Us
Volition: to make a choice.
This is long, but it could - seriously - be life changing.
Watch it.

Simple Observation, Collation and Correlation
Anyone who lived through this election campaign and still thinks that the U.S. media is not biased is mentally beyond redemption by any amount of reality. The same goes for anyone who still thinks that there is a real two-party system.

Christian Persecution
Not covered by the NYT; not covered by CNN; not covered by Fox; not covered by the Washington Post. We leave it to Al Jazeera to cover a story like this:
What does that tell us? I think it is time to give up the charade: Americans simply do not really care about their Christian heritage. Why lament the media for not covering these stories sufficiently well, when their primary audience couldn't care less?

Does this mean I cannot post YouTube videos anymore?
What a bunch of yahoos.
Hate-speech my arse.
Lord, forgive them.
Whether they know not what they do, or do.

Feeling for the Little Guy
I have no idea whether "Joe the Plumber" is a Republican/McCain plant or not. What I do find interesting, however, is that the national media found it necessary to dig into and publish his apparent tax problems while they have virtually ignored Obama's (apparent tax problems).
Why is that (Verily asks rhetorically)?

Fox News Jerks
Peter Schiff of Euro Pacific Capital being ridiculed by the clowns at Fox News who shot him down because he was just some gloomy guy who had a bummer outlook (a nasty "contrarian") and wanted to throw a dash of stodgy common sense into the Bubblemania machine that was gripping America. Time after time he was shot down by incompetent, uneducated, follow-thy-masses boob commentators and fellow analysts on FOX, CNBC, and elsewhere:
And on another note . . . watch this debate between Peter and Arthur Laffer of the (in)famous Laffer Curve (of which I posted here). Will Laffer pay up?

Apologizing to Darwin
From the First Things blog: Reuters brings us the latest in the ongoing quest to conflate the news so readers don’t have to:
Another commentary on the state of "religious" reporting: the capabilities of "religion" reporters.
“Evolution fine but no apology to Darwin: Vatican”Wait a second. Why is the Church expected to apologize to Darwin in the first place? According to the very same news article,
The Vatican said on Tuesday the theory of evolution was compatible with the Bible but planned no posthumous apology to Charles Darwin for the cold reception it gave him 150 years ago.
Pope Pius XII described evolution as a valid scientific approach to the development of humans in 1950 and Pope John Paul reiterated that in 1996. . . . Darwin’s theories were “never condemned by the Catholic Church nor was his book ever banned”. . . .Let me get things straight: Other Christian churches understand the creation story literally. An Anglican in Britain hopes his church apologizes for not adopting evolution from the start. Sounds like the Vatican has some explaining to do.
Creationism is the belief that God created the world in six days as described in the Bible. The Catholic Church does not read the Genesis account of creation literally, saying it is an allegory for the way God created the world.
Christian churches were long hostile to Darwin because his theory conflicted with the literal biblical account of creation.
Earlier this week a leading Anglican churchman, Rev. Malcolm Brown, said the Church of England owed Darwin an apology for the way his ideas were received by Anglicans in Britain.
