Nonprofit Marketing

For an organization to be distinct, it will be – somehow – different. Being different is going to rub somebody the wrong way, and that somebody might even be inside your organization.

If you cannot get past the barrier inside your organization, you're going nowhere in the marketplace. This is why so many nonprofits are (weird) look-alikes with others. Unfortunately, that often amounts to: speaking your own idiom, trumpeting your own goals, blithely unaware how weird you look and sound, and annoyed with customers who don't "get it."

Is that you? Well, stop it!
It's pretty straightforward. Successful marketing needs:
  1. Simplicity.
  2. Consistency.
  3. Relevance.
