As the preceding post intimates, Immanuel Kant has had a great deal of influence upon the modern world: how easy it is to see our contemporaries who, with Kant, believe (dare we say "know"?) that "belief" is the subjectively adequate but objectively inadequate acceptance of something as true.
I would suggest very many if not most of our contemporaries understand by "belief" something far more akin to Kant's view, than Thomas's; too bad, since its wrong.
